Overview of a Residential Licensing Technician
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Residential Licensing Technician to join an expanding team. The role of Residential Licensing Technician has a competitive pay rate of up to £15.68 per hour. The Main Purpose of a Residential Licensing Technician:

  • To demonstrate a commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and the ability to understand and implement the policy in relation to the job responsibilities
  • To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council’s health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.
  • To promote and participate in the council’s individual performance appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice.
  • To ensure compliance with the council’s information security policies and maintain confidentiality.
  • In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
  • Take and disseminate messages from members of the public and other partners when officers are unavailable.
  • Co-ordinate and assist in responding to FOI, Environmental Data and DPA requests within the statutory timescales.
  • Maintain the databases and statutory registers that includes HMO registers
  • An Understanding of the role that Environmental Health and Licensing plays in Local Government.
  • Working knowledge of and able to use proficiently, PC based word processing, presentation packages, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Understanding of the political context and environment of Local Government

  • Ability to solve problems, generate ideas and proposals, and produce recommendations for action
  • Ability to carry out duties outside normal working hours as may be necessary including evening meetings
  • Ability to create effective working relationships at all levels and proven ability to work effectively in a team
