You will be part of the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison Team, that has an emphasis on supporting young people through a difficult period of their life and helping them with their mental health.

The team covers crisis work, which involves answering telephone calls from young people and parents around mental health distress; providing home treatment to help stabilise and prevent the need for a hospital admission. We also cover the acute hospitals in providing assessments and treatment for young people who present in the Children’s Emergency Department or are admitted to the acute wards.

Main duties of the job

As a CAMHS Crisis and Liaison Support Worker, you will:

Your role will be under the supervision our CAMHS Crisis and Liaison Mental Health Practitioners and you will support in the delivery of care plans for young people who have been assessed by one of our registered mental health practitioners.

You will spend time with the young people on a 1-1 basis, supporting them either by telephone, within their homes, schools, on the wards and in the community.

You will predominantly based at Hopewood in Nottingham, but required to travel the county as required.

We are a very supportive team. You will receive regular supervision; and will be actively encouraged and supported in continual training developments.

Enhancements are paid for weekend and evening / night working.

  • Observe and adhere to the CAMHS ServiceSpecification, vision, aims and objectives

  • Aim to be innovative and creative in the delivery ofcare to young people and families around their mental health crisis needs
