An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ColorectalSurgical Team, we are looking to recruit SFA to provide clinical support to thesurgoens in our busy theatres.

This innovative role is designed to enable multidisciplinarystaff to contribute to the care of the surgical patient. Following an initialtraining period, to complete a SFA course, the post holder will join a team ofsurgical first assistants working across the trust. The post holder willprovide competent and dedicated surgical assistance to the operating surgeon,undertaking practical procedure.

Main duties of the job

Your role would include providing skilled dedicated surgicalassistance to the operating surgeon. Perform practical procedures within scopeof practice. Be responsible for clinical risk and ensure staff are proactive inmanaging risk. Support learning opportunities for trainee surgeons. Create anddeliver teaching and training to support staff, student development and CPD.You will also be involved in data collection and audits. You must be confidentdealing with patients and staff, approachable, a team player and computerliterate.

Performpractical procedures as delegated and suitably supervised by the operatingsurgeon.

Your working hours would be 8-4 Monday to Friday however, flexibility isessential.
