Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the renal research team for 2 band 6 Renal Research Sister posts to join our friendly team at the Queen Elizabeth hospital. One post is full time 37.5 hours and the other is 22.5 hours. These positions are based at the QEHB.
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individuals to join us. They will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clinical trials and working collaboratively within the renal research team and liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
You will have regular contact with patients and your work will make a real difference to future care for patients. The well-being and safety of our research patients/ participants is at the heart of all we do as is our confidence that the data we provide is accurate and reproducible.
The right candidate would be an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who would be responsible for leading on the delivery of patient focused, protocol driven, evidence based care in collaboration with participants, relatives and the multidisciplinary team; ensuring that patient care is delivered according to Trust procedures and research standard operating procedures.
Previous experience working in research and/or nephrology is advantageous.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work independently/autonomously and at times without direct supervision, accountable for their own professional actions.
The post holder must use up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence changes and promote health and best practice. They must make person centred, evidence based judgements in partnership with others involved in the care process to ensure high quality care.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering an agreed portfolio of clinical trials. The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical trials and access support to deliver clinical trials within their portfolio. The role involves liaising with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team to implement and manage trial protocols to ensure a high quality of data collection, ensuring patient safety and welfare. The post holder will deputise for the Senior Research Sister / Charge Nurse.
