The Financial Planning and Performance (FPP) team, who are developing a new approach to financial planning across the University, is looking for a new team member. We are developing accurate, transparent financial planning information to open up strategic conversations with senior leaders and transform the way finance is understood within the University. The Senior Finance Analyst will join an existing team to develop, deliver and explain the significance of financial information and analysis, and provide scrutiny in the management of central University finances, policy and processes. They will add valuable input to the transition to financial transparency via financial review and analysis and will contribute to the development of co-ordinated and effective new financial policies and procedures to support planning and budgeting. The role will also support senior management in planning, monitoring, financial controls and financial decision making. The role will work closely with other Finance Managers, Finance Advisers and other Finance Division staff.

Your Skills You will be a part qualified or qualified chartered accountant, comfortable with interpreting, analysing and preparing accurate, specialised financial information to financial and non-financial colleagues. You will have experience of using financial reporting tools to bring your analysis to life. You will thrive in a creative, busy team, and will be happy to share your knowledge with others inside and outside of the direct team. You will enjoy partnering with colleagues in diverse parts of the University.

Location The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.

The Finance Division has embraced hybrid working and is currently trialling in-person working within teams two days a week from Greenwich House and three days worked remotely pro-rata. This arrangement is temporary whilst we are actively taking on board feedback from our colleagues.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 4 years in the first instance.
