Job summary

This post offers a rare opportunity to work in an award-winning and Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Community of Community (CofC) accredited Therapeutic Community, ‘EMBRACE’. The successful candidate will be a creative and energetic individual who will join a small multidisciplinary team and work for three days per week including Tuesdays and Thursdays. The role will include being a full member of the EMBRACE therapeutic community on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with various other assessment, review and supporting activities.

We are looking for a clinician experienced in conducting therapeutic groups for people with severe and complex emotional needs. Ideally you will also have experience of working within, or lived experience of being a member of a therapeutic community.

Main duties of the job

The3/4 “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:

For Psychotherapist:

  • Core professional training and registration in a mental health profession (e.g. psychology, nurse, OT, Social Worker etc.) or equivalent.
  • Recognised psychotherapy qualification and registered with UKCP as a psychotherapist, qualified Group Analyst or with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

For Clinical/Counselling Psychologist:

  • Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology
  • Registered and accredited with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Eligible for graduate membership of BPS (British Psychology Society) and for Chartered Counselling or Clinical Psychology status and membership of the Division of Counselling or Clinical Psychology

For Specialist Mental Health Practitioner:

  • Current professional registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or equivalent
  • Relevant post registration training and development within psychological therapies field, such as cognitive and behavioural approaches
