Deputy Associate Director of Patient Care (ADPC) 8b (a secondment opportunity may also be available). Due to our planned merger between SFT and YDH we have a new clinical leadership position in our Surgical and Medical service groups. The service groups are accountable and responsible for developing a climate that promotes the Trust values and enables every colleague to achieve to their maximum potential to help the Trust deliver excellent care and outcomes in line with the Trust strategic objectives.

These posts are suitable for an inspiring, clinically credible, experienced registered nurse, midwife or AHP. This post exists to deliver joined up person centred care by working in partnership with the ADPC and Matrons to create an environment, processes, and ways of working which ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and effective care across the service group. This post supports the ADPC are to lead on professional 
standards, governance, quality, patient safety and experience. The post holder will be expected to work across both acute sites and in community 
areas where the service groups are responsible for services, ability to travel will be essential.

Working for our organisation

In conjunction with the leadership team the post holder will be supporting the ADPC in the leadership of professional standards, governance and safeguarding, quality assurance, patient experience and patient safety (including PSIRF).

As the two organisations merge to become a new organisation and the new operating model is embedded, this role will be required to deliver across the two acute sites and in other areas of Somerset where the service group deliver services.

Essential criteria

  • Registered professional qualification RN, RM or AHP Degree in healthcare (or similar) or leadership related discipline Master level study or equivalent experience Candidates must display expert-level knowledge of the critical factors in delivering improvements in clinical performance/standards of care relevant to the individual care group setting Knowledge and experience of improving patient safety Candidates must display expert level knowledge of the Governance and Risk frameworks required to underpin the delivery of safe

    Essential criteria

  • Significant experience of operational management in a senior nursing / AHP role within Healthcare/NHS with recent experience in an acute setting Candidates will have previously held a senior nursing/midwifery/AHP position (8a or equivalent) Candidates must have experience in and expertise of managing complex change processes while maintaining sustained improvement in routine matter
