Job summary

We are seeking a full timeConsultant Radiologist to join our established and enthusiastic team inproviding a high-quality general radiology service. This is a replacement postin a team of four full time and two part time Consultant Radiologists, a parttime Specialty Doctor and five Superintendent Radiographers.

Thereare no on call duties within the post, as the out of hoursservice (for emergency care only) is supported by a remote reporting company.

The contract is for 10 PA with a further 1 PA available subject tomutual agreement. The post offers anopportunity for a varied work experience, principally involving CT, MRI, PlainFilm Radiography, Ultrasound and interventional procedures, with MDT meetings,teaching, audit and management.

The Trust is happy to considerflexible working in support of work / life balance. Extended days andcompressed hours (3 long days) will be considered as well as weekend sessions.

Our ideal new colleague willbe a General Radiologist with an interest in Gastrointestinal Radiology. Basic image-guided biopsy skills arewelcome.

The final timetablemay change as the Consultant integrates into the department in the climate ofservices reconfiguration in the Trust and local health economy. Flexibility isexpected within sessions to cover colleagues absence and other departmentneeds.

General:

To work with local managers and professionalcolleagues in the efficient running of services and to share with Consultantcolleagues in the medical contribution to management.

Provision of a Diagnostic Imaging service forthe Isle of Wight NHS Trust, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosisand treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.

Substituting, in an emergency, for absent orill colleagues.
