About the Process Invention Scientific Fellow

Within this role, you will work closely with our technical directors to operationalise their vision for process design within CatSci, providing key contributions to business cases around how improvements will contribute to business goals. You will also have the opportunity to work directly on customer projects focused on process design and build capability within the CatSci Scientific Operations community dedicated to drug substance process design.

You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of how the manufacturing process requirements for drug substance differ between candidate nomination and launch, and possess the ability to maintain understanding on external developments within Process Invention and their commercial implications to CatSci.

    Your Impact as an Process Invention Scientific Fellow

    • Coordinating capability build activities and training for the community within CatSci Scientific Operations dedicated to drug substance process design
    • Liaising with Technical Directors to help operationalise their vision for process design within CatSci.  This will involve contributing to business cases around how improvements will contribute to the achievement of business goals
    • Developing and making available new knowledge and technology within the area of process design
    • Working directly on one or more customer projects focused on process design
    • Proactively providing technical guidance, challenge and problem solving to customer projects focused on process design and supporting proposals for new projects
    • Be a positive advocate for new technology, process improvements and for the application of digital design approaches
    • Ensuring work of self and others is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment, quality and compliance standards

      Requirements for Process Invention Scientific Fellow

      • Professional competence gained through at least ten years’ postdoctoral experience, supporting the design, development and manufacture of drug substance
      • A track record of exceptional examples of creative problem solving, as applied to design of drug substance processes, that have moved projects forward
      • Recognised externally as a scientific leader in the theory and practice of drug substance manufacturing process design, through peer-reviewed publications and contributions to industry consortia
      • Demonstrated experience of using a mixture of scientific leadership, coaching and mentoring to support less experienced colleagues in navigating the experimental design to project decision cycle
      • Regularly leverages a well-established professional network to create value for customers
      • Consistently holds self and others accountable for the achievement of performance expectations
      • Demonstrates genuine commitment to the time and effort needed to develop oneself and others
      • Displays a commitment to wellbeing of self and others

      Benefits

      • Competitive salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum (depending on experience + negotiable)
