Goods In

Location: Chelmsford

Hours: 39 hrs per week Mon- Wed 7am – 5:30pm, Thurs 7am – 4:30pm (30 min lunch) (Friday, Saturday and Sundays off)

Salary : £11.50 per hour

Adecco are excited to be working alongside their client based in Chelmsford, who are looking to hire a Goods In Operative to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be responsible for managing the receipt, Inspection, booking in, storage, issue and reporting of all production and consumable materials in and out of the Goods In department.

Duties:

  • Take receipt and book in all deliveries of production parts and consumables
  • Prioritise AOGs to ensure they are booked in without delay
  • Check to ensure the items and quantities match the purchase order
  • Check to ensure items meet receiving inspection quality requirements
  • Check to ensure all relevant paperwork is correct and delivery note matches purchase order
  • Report any discrepancies or quality concerns to supplier or customer and internal supervision and Quality management
  • Record daily goods receipt and stock entry transactions on MRP system
  • Print/photocopy drawings and relevant paperwork
  • Raise job packs
  • Place production orders in relevant colour coded bags
  • Issue parts and paperwork when planned to relevant department on shopfloor
  • Complete daily logs for office use
  • Manage control of stock and replenish when required
  • Perform material cycle counts and internal audits
  • Validation/Correction of Purchase Order pricing, liaising with external customers
  • Undertaking special tasks as directed by the senior management
  • Supervise and train staff within the Goods In discipline
  • Assist external audit team during annual audits
  • Carry out annual risk assessments in the Goods-In workspace
  • Performing any other duties within capabilities as directed by the company
  • Experience:

  • Attention to detail, organised, methodical, tidy and precise
  • Good numeracy skills are essential
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Computer literate and a good working knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel in particular) and MRP systems
  • Team player who has a flexible approach and able to demonstrate good time management
  • Previous experience of using a stores or stock control system
  • Heavy lifting in line with HSE guidelines will be required
  • Previous use of materials handling equipment and a forklift licence is preferred but not essential
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role is essential (Skills can be taught, a good attitude is key)
