About the role

We are looking for two individuals to join and support our Waterways and Small Works team, both on a fixed term contract basis for three months.

To be successful you will have hard and/or soft landscaping and/or grounds maintenance experience and the abilities to operate associated vehicles tools and equipment.

Working within the team you will be assisting with physically demanding duties, for which you must have the physical capability to be able to perform, these tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Repairs and Installation of fencing, paths and street furniture such as litter bins, signs and benches
  • Strimming and mowing on and near watercourses and ditches, so you must be happy to work near water and have the ability to swim
  • Cutting back, clearing and maintaining waterways, ditches, and watercourses
  • Hedge cutting and shrub pruning
  • Performing risk assessments

You will be well organised, flexible and reliable and have the ability to role model appropriate behaviours and standards to your colleagues.

Additional information

A full current UK driving licence (Category B) which will allow you to operate a transit sized van.

You will be required to wear uniform and associated PPE, all of which will be provided.

For waterways role you must be happy to work near water and have the ability to swim.
