Defence Equipment
The Trainer – Welding role is based within our Defence Equipment business area.

Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment. As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.

The role
The difference our new Trainer – Welding will make
As a Trainer – Welding, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will deliver welder training to the trade’s men and women of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

Day to day, you’ll be conducting visual and destructive testing of welds, conducting courses and trainee administration, as well as preparing lesson plans, training aids and trainee supporting materials.

This role is onsite based at Lyneham.

Essential experience

* Extensive experience and Level 3 in welding, would consider Level 2
* Ex-metal smith Royal Navy or RAF engineer background would be highly desirable
* Background in Steel industry
* Supervisory experience
* Excellent verbal and communication skills
* Must hold or have the ability to obtain SC and DBS Security Clearance
