Are you passionate about interpreting local population health management data to understand local needs and improve outcomes?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Performance & Planning Leads in the Mid & South Essex ICB Alliances, working collaboratively in Alliance teams and with partner organisations you will analyse and interpret population health management data to understand local populations defined by health need, inequalities, ethnicity, geography and other characteristics.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are experienced in planning and performance, you must a self-starter, able to adapt to new strategies, ideas and ways of working as they enable delivery of the Alliance and wider ICB ambitions.

Main duties of the job

The Alliance Performance and Planning leads play a key role in providing insight, intelligence, performance reporting and strategic advice within the Alliance. Using data driven insight and advanced analytics, you will drive improved performance and outcomes for residents and support the achievement of system-wide efficiencies.

Performance and Planning Lead roles are available in the South East Essex Alliance and the Thurrock Alliance, both roles are for 0.5 wte or 18.75 hrs per week. Applications are welcome for 0.5 wte or 1.0 wte (full time working across both Alliances).

Mid and South Essex ICB is a statutory organisation responsible for the planning and delivery of local health and care services, across Mid and South Essex and is part of the wider integrated care system. Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are partnerships of health and care organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up services and to improve the health of people who live and work in their area. The headquarters for the organisation is Phoenix Court, Basildon, but there is a hybrid model of working, which includes working across Mid and South Essex and home working.

The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System will comprise the Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is the statutory body for the NHS, and the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), which is a committee of the ICB, and brings together key health, care, community and voluntary sector organisations across the area.

The ICS has a bold ambition to deliver improved outcomes for our 1.2m population through our four Alliances, and we are placing clinical and professional leadership and the voice of our residents at the heart of realizing this ambition.

The postholder will be part of the Place-based team, who will work in partnership with local communities to improve local population health.

The Alliance Performance and Planning lead plays a key role in providing insight, intelligence, performance reporting and strategic advice within the Alliance. The role is crucial to support the development of the Mid Essex Alliance, Primary Care Networks and the transformation agenda. Working with Transformation & Engagement leads and managers, the role will analyse and interpret local population health management data to understand local level needs.

By working in collaboration with district and partner organisations, the postholder will seek to understand local populations defined by health need, inequalities, ethnicity, geography and other characteristics. Using data driven insight, the role with drive improved performance and outcomes for residents and support the achievement of system-wide efficiency savings by 2024/25 by identifying health resource consumption.

The postholder will be a dynamic, motivated individual who is a self-starter, able to adapt to new strategies, ideas and ways of working as they enable delivery of the ICB ambitions.

You will have a dotted line responsibility to the Data and BI team with professional accountability to the Director of Data and BI.

You will work as part of a virtual Data and BI team across the ICS where activities may need to be adjusted based on wider system priorities and pressures. You will be expected to support other directorates from time to time.
