Dueto team expansion College Road Surgery is seeking to employ a motivated andenthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our busy but friendly medical practice.
Main duties of the job
The candidatewill be an experienced Nurse Practitioner who holds an appropriate, specific,advanced professional qualification which meets NMC requirements for high-levelpractice.
Experienced inworking as an ANP in primary care or other related service and competent inassessment, diagnosis and management of common primary care presentations. Competentin the use of technology. Experience in use of TPP Systm One. The ANP will workwith the team to provide high-quality care which meets the needs of thepractices patient population.

College RoadSurgery has a 11 300 patient list size, 4 full time partners, 2 part-time partners,salaried GP, registrar. ARR rolesincluding paramedic, PA, pharmacists, dieticians, physio, social prescriber& podiatrist. We have our own purpose built premises, with on-siteindependent pharmacy.

The post holdershould be an experienced nurse who, acting within their professionalboundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial historytaking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
They willdemonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, includingassessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice.
The post holderwill demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needsof patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providingnurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level Nursing andMidwifery Council (NMC) requirements for advanced practice must be met and keptup to date.
Clinical practice
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis
Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for patients with complex needs
Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate)
Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug- and non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan
Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice
Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments
Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions
Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles, and apply principles of self-care
Support and manage health needs of women presenting for family planning, cervical cytology or sexual health consultation
Assess, identify and refer patients presenting with mental health needs
Participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children
Understand how to identify and act upon safeguarding concerns (about children and vulnerable adults) in an appropriate manner (to Level 3 England Guidance on Safeguarding Children)
