One of the leading specialist Construction/Civil firms in the UK are about to start a unique joint venture. Both businesses have been established for many years and are recognised in industry. This exciting new venture requires a Finance Manager to join the business. This is a newly created role and you will be the first financial professional to join the business. This offers you an incredible opportunity to truly have the freedom to be your own Finance Manager, implement new processes and really make a difference. You will have full autonomy in your role and be working hybrid as the role will require visits to different sites. The successful applicant will have the benefits of a very attractive salary package circa £55k to £65k, although there is some flexibility on this for the right applicant. You will also receive a company car option or car allowance plus excellent benefits.

As Finance Manager you will report to the Project Directors and work closely with the lead team, providing information with regards to the commercial progression of the project.

Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

  • Create robust procedures and controls for Accounts Payable, Sales Ledger, Cash Control
  • Control of project costs
  • Budgetary control to include setting of budgets in line with the needs of the project
  • Production of rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Presentation to Project Management Team and Board of the Project Financial Report
  • All year end and month end processes
  • Management of a small team

    • The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager within construction, civil engineering or similar
  • The ability to present financial information to other areas of the business
  • A background in business partnering
  • Sound knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excel to advanced levels
