This exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Workforce Development & Engagement team to lead our workforce employability initiatives. We expect you to share our vision and the ground level implementation experience to deliver on our aspirations. You will have a responsibility for supporting the development of an appropriately skilled young workforce, which will meet the current and future service demands. This will include, developing and implementing a range of approaches for employing young people and other underrepresented groups, and continuing the development of a Modern Apprenticeship programme.

You will have the credibility and ability to establish and maintain impactful relationships to reflect your leadership role in developing new initiatives, working with internal and external partners to maximise pre-employment opportunities for disadvantaged and diverse groups. You will also be responsible for delivering initiatives in partnership with the third sector such as Princes Trust.

You should be future focussed and innovative, able to effectively draw on professional practice, awareness of the sector and established networks, to proactively lead the team, as well as have specialist knowledge and understanding of employability issues and its links to Human Resources and Learning and Development practice. You should be educated to degree level and have appropriate experience in a Human Resources / Employability role, preferably within the public sector.
