Robert Half is working exclusively with a well known global brand based in Wellingborough to recruit for a Assistant Stock Accountant to input, analyse and maintain the inventory sub-ledger and assist with the general ledger for all EMEA entities and the subsidiaries in Europe.

This role will be Hybrid with a 2/3 3/2 day split depending on the week. The three key requirements of the role before applying are

Responsibilities

  • Review price, duty and freight variances and identify/investigate any issues
  • Ownership of a special project including all aspects of accounting and reporting
  • Review and reconcile the inventory ledgers to identify and investigate anomalies and resolve these where possible
  • Prepare monthly inventory provisions in line with group policy and identify variances in stock ageing profile
  • Support the warehouse inventory counts
  • Ownership of transfer pricing reconciliations relating to inventory and goods in transit reporting across EMEA
  • Be the primary Finance contact for Shipping, Warehouse and UK Manufacturing
  • Maintain the EMEA ledgers in accordance with group and local statutory accounting requirements.
  • Assistance with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of robust month end processes and internal controls to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.
  • Completion of month end tasks in line with the high-level month end timetable and the detailed month end checklists.

Experience Required

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Microsoft Dynamics (D365), retail, multi-currency, multi-site, foreign language skills & experience of working with European subsidiaries highly desirable
  • Good understanding of business processes and inventory costing, with a sound understanding of the importance of accuracy of nominal ledger postings
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel – proficient in VLookups, pivot tables, comfortable analysing large amounts of data
  • Strong problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail and inquisitive nature
  • Work under tight deadlines and help others within the team wherever possible
  • Proactive approach to work and a desire to streamline processes to increase productivity across the team
  • Good communication skills, able to clearly summarise issues to colleagues at all levels
