A new and exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join our pharmacy cancer services team on a permanent basis. NHS Fife treats oncology and haematology patients within inpatient, day-case and outpatient settings and participates in cancer clinical trials. You will join a supportive pharmacy team, committed to the development of cancer services.

The cancer services pharmacy team consists of Specialist Clinical Pharmacists, Senior Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians under the leadership of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist Womens, Childrens and Cancer Services. You will be supported to complete a relevant post graduate framework and train as an independent prescriber.

As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for Cancer Services, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of prescribing across the NHS Fife Haematology/Oncology Service. 

You would be expected to provide support and deputise for Senior Clinical Pharmacists and undertake supervision of post registration foundation pharmacists, technicians and students. 

Applications are welcomed from pharmacists who are passionate about patient care, possess excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and are keen to develop their clinical experience in haematology and oncology.

The NHS Fife Pharmacy Service is undergoing an ambitious programme of transformation and integration. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people, and is provided by an integrated team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.

As part of our staff engagement and leadership, our Pharmacy Senior Leadership hold monthly staff briefing sessions to update the team on new developments, celebrate achievements and to hear ideas from our staff.
