SEN Teacher

Do you have experience teaching children with additional needs and would like to work more with SEMH? Have you previously taught students at Secondary level and now want to expand your experience in a small specialist school? We are looking for an inspiring SEN teacher to join one of our SEN partner schools in South Manchester who have students with various additional needs. This is a full-time role and will give you the opportunity to build excellent relationships with your students and enable them to grow and progress

The ideal SEN teacher for this role will be passionate about teaching students with SEN and will have the ability to inspire students of all levels. A successful Teacher at this college will have strong behavioural management skills and previous experience teaching children with various additional needs and SEMH. You must also be interested in teaching a variety of subjects. (in particular Science)

As an SEN Teacher you must:

– Be resilient when providing teaching in challenging environments

– Understand the needs of children with additional needs

– Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and manage expectations

– Prioritise consistent daily routine to help minimise anxiety

– Be able to work with the school and various therapists to ensure pupil progression

– Be happy teaching a variety of subjects

– Have QTS/QTLS or equivalent and have taught in UK schools for at least a term
