Axcis are looking to recruit a teaching assistant for a role in a mainstream primary school, in the Blackburn area, working with students who have SEND.The school is a large primary provision which caters for KS1 / 2 students from a range of backgrounds. The school, have a high percentage of students with SEND and SEMH difficulties and generally speaking, the behaviour in school can be quite challenging. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with 2 or 3 children in school who have additional needs, including autism and ADHD. The behaviour of these pupils is quite challenging and the role is fairly demanding.The role, will be full time and school hours are 8.45am – 3.45pm Monday – Friday. The role will require you to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with the identified students to help keep them engaged in lessons and also manage their behaviour as much as possible. One of the students struggles to communicate, therefore, experience working with speech and language would be ideal also.The candidate, must be hard working, confident and resilient. The candidate should be eager to work with challenging students and have some childcare experience. The candidate must be looking for a full time role in a forward thinking school and be able to commit on a long term basis. Pay for this role would be £12 per hour as a minimum and the role would start as soon as possible.
