Our clients is looking for a GIS Specialist on a 12-month contract. This position will be based in Stafford 3 days a week with 2 days remote. There is flexibility on what days you will be working from home or in the office.

You will be offering support by managing the spatial data within Land Access and Land Acquisition with a focus on Ground Investigation works, and requires working closely with the Land Access, Site, Environment, GIS, and Accommodation Works teams.

The main responsibilities/tasks as a GIS Specialist are:

  • Prepare, distribute, and manage the spatial side of Land Access requests, liaising directly with the Land Access, Ground Investigation, Site and Environment Teams.
  • Manage and update relevant web applications to support timely delivery of update requests maintaining direct communication with application users.
  • Provide training to users of web applications whilst ensuring best practice.
  • Spatially support the coordination of Land Access.
  • Spatially support the coordination of Land Possession and Acquisition.
  • Attend weekly meetings ensuring all parties are up to date on any amendments required to spatial data or matching documentation.
  • Weekly data cleansing and issue correspondence on any outstanding issues to the relevant parties to ensure resolution.
  • Manipulation, analysis, and presentation of geographical information in multiple formats.
  • Support automation of Land Access process.
  • Update Record of Condition layers to support timely delivery and manage associated web application.
  • Manage spatial data exchange between partner organisations to ensure accurate and up to date information is utilised.
  • Review Land Access Agreement process and ensure all documentation is accurately recorded spatially in conjunction. Similarly, review spatial data and ensure all documentation is in accordance with any constraints detected.
  • We are focusing on candidates with the below skills and competences:

  • Have an excellent knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software for spatial data capture, management, and analysis
  • Have a strong map production skill with excellent attention to detail to ensure all outputs are to the highest standard
  • Have a familiarity with Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, and other UK wide datasets/sources
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work on their own initiative, organising workloads to meet tight project deadlines
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations
  • Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude
