We are working with an established regional business to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to initially manage a 70 bed care scheme in Woking.

The company has been established on the South Coast for 50 years and they work on a mixture of framework opportunities, repeat negotiated business as well as the odd single stage bid. The markets they work in are commercial. industrial, health care, retail, leisure and education. Schemes are new build and refurb/change of use and range from £3 to £25 million in value.

Your role is to successfully manage the commercial aspects of the the current scheme until handover and final account working alongside a visiting Senior QS. Once this scheme is complete you will get the opportunity to run and manage your own project from bid through to handover.

You will normally get involved with the scheme at tender/bid stages and be expected to assist and review the estimator and bid teams and iron out any potential issues and help plan and implement a successful and profitable bid. You will be responsible for procuring the sub contract packages, arranging pre-start meetings then checking and evaluating each package and managing the day to day site activities – valuations, remeasures, payments, CVRs, reporting and forecasting.

You will work closely with the site delivery team – PM and SM and report directly to the Regional Commercial Director.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is confident enough to run their own schemes from start to finish ideally from a contracting background but that can be small family business to a Tier 1 national, so if you are feeling frustrated with your current employer, want the chance to run your own job or want to work in Hampshire with Dorset and West Sussex being the furthest you will ever have to travel then contact me on or call 07827 353568
