Adult Teaching Assistant

Job type: Full time Monday to Friday, 9am-3:30pm

Age: Post 16

Location: Kensal Green, North West London

Pay: £80 – £90 (negotiable – depending on experience)

We are looking for Adult Teaching Assistant to work alongside teachers at a growing, grassroots charity and help teach skills to young people and adults with learning disabilities to achieve their ambitions, gain skills and opportunities for independence and live a life of their choice. A daily rate of £80 – £90 a day and with a chance of progression from a temporary to permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Candidate:

Our ideal candidates will have experience or understanding of working with young people and/or adults with learning disabilities including Autism, or a similar vulnerable group, along with a strong commitment to taking a person-centred approach to the role.

We are looking for passionate and effective team players that can work closely with colleagues and the people who use the service to affect real change in the lives of adults with learning disabilities.

The Role:

In this diverse role you will be supporting the classroom teacher in a group setting and occasionally in 1:1 sessions. You will help students access a variety of courses including Independent Living Skills, Creative and Performing Arts, Health and Wellbeing and Employment and Vocational Training. Personal care may be involved but unlikely.
