OVERVIEW

Our client is a well-established business who are looking for a Financial Controller to join their business.
As Financial Controller you will support and work closely with the CFO and Senior leadership team to provide robust financial reporting and commercial input to enable them to control costs and budget effectively whilst achieving company goals and growth.
This would suit a qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA professional with proven experience working in an SME business. A hands-on approach is essential and would suit somebody looking to work for a business that can offer the potential to grow and develop your career further.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all day-to-day accounting functions including sales ledger (invoicing & credit) notes; credit control; purchase ledger; general ledgers/journals; stock accounting and cost accounting
  • Supervising, managing, and motivating a small finance team
  • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
  • Coordinating the preparation of budget and financial forecasting, and reporting variances monthly
  • Preparing and publishing all monthly financial statements
  • Creating reports (monthly & annual) which identify results trends and forecasts
  • Streamlining and improving all operations and accounting systems
  • Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt, and debt collection
  • Management of invoice financing and credit insurance facilities
  • Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external personnel where required
  • Management of the monthly and annual payroll systems
  • Support the business with financial strategy and decision-making process
  • Helping the CFO in presenting reports to board members and senior executives

 
Essential candidate requirements:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with relevant post qualification experience adding value, in an SME/fast paced business.
  • Technically strong with detailed knowledge of management and statutory accounting
  • Experience of developing processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Line management experience essential
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel.
  • Hands on approach with a keen eye for detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced business.
  • Excellent communication skills with business partnering experience.
