We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Anaesthetic Department within the Planned and Surgical Care (PSC) Directorate.

As part of the management team you must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be tactful, diplomatic and be able to work both alone and as part of a team in the busy Anaesthetic Department. 

The department is within the Planned and Surgical Care Directorate and is based in the Anaesthetic Department at Harrogate District Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The position involves a range of clerical duties including management of the rota, setting up meetings, booking appointments, minute taking and any other clerical duties required to ensure the department runs smoothly and effectively. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an excellent department, providing essential clerical and administration support to the Anaesthetic Doctors under the guidance of the Service Manager.

    This is an exciting and varied role where the postholder will be responsible for co-ordinating the Department of Anaesthesia, comprising of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, trainees and fellows. They will liaise with Consultant staff across all of the Planned and Surgical Directorate ensuring the smooth running of all anaesthetic services whilst handling complex and sensitive information.

    Essential criteria

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMs
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experienced in producing meeting agendas and minute taking.
  • Recent National Health Service experience
