The applicant will utilise the renowned SAIL Databank and work within a vibrant and diverse multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will work with organisations in social care in Wales to identify opportunities and questions for linked data research and data sharing and undertake research projects. The post holder will link these organisations to ADR Wales for the technical activity associated with data acquisition and data management.

The successful candidate will be seconded to the Research, Data, and Innovation team at Social Care Wales, reporting to the Research Manager. The postholder’s programme of work and objectives will be agreed upon between the Social Care Wales and the ADR Wales team.

The post requires a skilled data research professional that can work collaboratively and engage other organisations. They require a demonstrable understanding of the field of adult social care and related research.

The key skills the post requires are:

  • Experience in data preparation and management for research, including experience in structured query language (SQL) and relational databases.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistics for research, including experience in programming skills with statistical software, such as R, Python (or SAS, SPSS, and STATA).
  • Experience in presenting work, and the ability to quickly establish credibility in presenting and discussing research and data
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, including the ability to give critical feedback to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels constructively and productively.
