Finance and Campaigns Assistant

The Role
The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Director of Operations and be responsible for maintaining of financial management systems and ensure accurate reporting of all expenses. Moreover, the successful candidate will gain experience in all campaign activities and assist in administration across press and media and more, as directed by the Assistant Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director, maintain financial management systems ensuring the charity’s procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that accurate and precise records of all income and expenditure are regularly maintained on the accounting system.
  • Prepare accurate financial information for PPR Director team, Management Committee, auditors and funders as required.
  • Coordinate the purchasing requirements and act as liaison between the staff and external suppliers ensuring best value for money is achieved.
  • Provide day to day administrative support to organisational and campaign activity including receiving incoming telephone calls, answering/ referring queries, ordering stationery and supplies, maintaining PPR’s store and equipment.
  • Deliver the administrative framework to facilitate conferences, public events, meetings, training sessions, recruitment exercises etc
  • Maintain and improve administrative procedures and systems e.g. online filing system and databases, PPR’s mailing lists and press and media archives.
  • Coordinate building maintenance contracts related to the office premises and attend building management group meetings as required.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previously working in a finance-based role and have experience with accounting based software and be highly numeric. It is vital the successful post holder has excellent communication skills and be a team player. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Driven and task orientated
  • Good initiative
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • Good academics
