An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Critical Care Outreach Practitioner within the Critical Care Directorate at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post will offer opportunities to remain continually up to date with your mandatory training and also allow staff to develop further by completing extra training, expanding their knowledge and clinical skills and being part of a faculty training staff, i.e., AIM and ILS.

You must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure, work within a large multidisciplinary team, and ensure the Trust Values are incorporated into practice.   • Registration with NMC or other professional body.
  • Essential Qualification

  • Post-basic qualification to minimum degree level or equivalent experience
  • Post basic qualification in Critical Care/Acute Respiratory care
  • Care/Acute Respiratory care Recognised Teaching qualification
  • ILS (Resuscitation Council UK) provider
  • Current ALS provider/or willingness to undertake the course.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Non-Medical prescribing course
  • Clinical Skills and assessment course
  • Knowledge, skills training and experience

    Essential criteria

  • Substantial post registration experience in a high care speciality, with knowledge and clinical expertise.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a challenging environment, experience of and effective change agent.
  • Good communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Demonstrates an attitude of professionalism
  • Willingness to undertake further relevant study as required for the post
  • IT literate
