This exciting UK Payroll administration vacancy is based in modern offices at my Client’s HQ in Reading.

Due to growth they are seeking a Payroll specialist to join the Finance team on a permanent basis.

You will be working within a busy, friendly Finance Function and be responsible for a complex payroll run and the associated legislative requirements and processes.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and collate information from a variety of sources in order to process monthly salary and fortnightly wage payrolls across the Group
  • Assist with statutory returns, including those to HMRC, year-end accounts disclosures and wage deductions and amendments
  • Support Payroll Manager with administration, calculation and payment of pension contributions
  • Preparation of regular and ad hoc reports
  • Liaising with managers and employees regarding pay enquiries
  • Deputise for Payroll Manager where appropriate.
  • The Candidate:

  • Comprehensive up to date knowledge of all company and statutory payroll process and all relevant legislation, including PAYE, NI, OSP, SSP, SMP, SPP and company pension schemes
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of pay agreements for the various business units
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Strong planning, organisational and writing skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Able to learn systems and processes quickly
  • Able to cope with a high volume of work and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills with a wide range of people
  • Able to embrace change and work as part of a dynamic, evolving team
  • Experience of using payroll systems
  • Basic experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
