You will be joining a collaborative team mid-way through our multi-year DevOps journey. We partner with Digital Business Solutions development teams and underpin their success through engineering and operational best practice. We deliver reliable and resilient AWS infrastructure and are expanding our automated CI/CD delivery pipelines to empower the developers we partner with.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Systems Engineers and actively participate in the definition and realisation of our strategy.
As a systems engineering lead you will support and guide your team to use automation to optimise workloads, save cost, enable self service and create high levels of observability.

Responsibilities

  • Transform your engineers into a highly effective and agile DevOps team
  • Provide delivery leadership through close collaboration with infra and dev teams
  • Champion organisational change, helping all our teams transition to modern software delivery practices and culture
  • Stakeholder management at all levels including senior and executive management, presenting information in a concise and effective manner
  • Day to day support and management of your team facilitating an environment where innovation and learning will thrive

Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge and expertise of 24 x 7 operational support of systems hosted on a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure for example)
  • Experience of deploying Cloud infrastructure using modern software deployment patterns (We like CICD, GIT, Jenkins, ansible and terraform but cross training is available!)
  • Have solid experience in leading engineers to deliver their best in an inclusive and psychologically safe environment
  • Experience facilitating technical and planning meetings to identify best outcomes
  • Strong planning, Agile, problem solving and time management skills
