Children and Young Peoples Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT)
TWO POSTS AVAILABLE, to be based at either Melksham, Salisbury or Swindon CAMHS
We have two training posts within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in response to the Child and Young Persons Improving Access To Psychological Therapies Program (CYP-IAPT). Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been successfully involved in the CYP-IAPT program since the start in 2011.
We now wish to recruit two experienced clinicians who wish to learn systemic/ family therapy skills in Depression, Self Harm and Conduct disorder evidence based models. This is a great opportunity to receive excellent systemic/family therapy training (equivalent to years one and two of the four year systemic MSc training) and put new skills into practice within a clinical team with robust supervision.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be working as Senior Mental Health Practitioners (SMHPS) within community CAMHS for the duration of the one year course and will split their time between training and carrying out clinical work. After successful completion of the course the fixed term training contract will end however applicants would be encouraged to apply for any vacant posts within the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will undertake a post graduate training programme for this role and must show academic ability to fulfil this intensive training. There is a requirement to attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and complete essays, case studies, a portfolio and present taped clinical work for supervision. Generally the academic component is two days at University per week (Thursday and Friday).
The clinical component is working three days (Monday- Wednesday) in CAMHS, applying systemic skills to individual, parental and family sessions or consultations with the support/supervision of Family Therapists. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality evidence-based systemic interventions for referred young people.
To work as an SMHP you must have a HPC or BABCP-recognised core professional background in mental health or related areas.

New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
