Assistant Head Teacher

Location:  Tipton DY4

Contract: full time, fixed term

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in a mainstream primary school based in Tipton, Sandwell.

Georgina from Connex is working alongside this outstanding school to recruit an exceptional Assistant Headteacher and aspirational leader to join their fantastic team starting November 2022.

Key requirements:

  • Knowledge of key stage 1 and 2 National Curriculum
  • Qualified Teacher Status, NPQSL qualification or equivalent
  • Substantial experience of leadership in a special school
  • Sound knowledge of different SENDs
  • SENCO Qualified  
  • Minimum of 4 years successful teaching experience
  • Evidence of CPD to support leadership role
  • Working knowledge of ICT curriculum and as a management tool
  • A track record of Good/Outstanding classroom practice and a thorough understanding of core subject knowledge

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Positively supporting the aims and of the school
  • Promote positive standards of conduct from staff and support staff wellbeing and attendance, in line with school policies 
  • Monitoring progress towards pupils’ achievement- Principal lead for key stages 1 and 2 and coordinate transition into adulthood.
  • Take a leading role in strategic decision making in collaboration with the Head Teacher and other leaders
  • Co-write the School Self Evaluation (SEF) and School Development Plan (SDP) in collaboration with the Head Teacher
  • Lead, plan, manage and monitor change in accordance with the School Development Plan
  • Work in partnership with the Head Teacher and other leaders to plan, implement, monitor, and review standards of Teaching and Learning across the school
  • Provide dynamic, consistent, and motivational Leadership to staff, pupils, families, and the wider community acting as a role model to ensure the highest standards are always delivered
  • Have day-to-day responsibility for the coordination of SEND provision to support individual pupils.

 

These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exhaustive nor exclusive as the post holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading of the post. You will be required to attend meetings outside of school working hours to support school governance and other school functions.
