Senior Python Software Engineer

About the Role

You will develop software using the best techniques available in a fast-moving product-centric environment. You will be a key part of a cross-functional product development group using agile management and engineering practices. Our platform team is collaborating across the organisation ensuring the best use of our capabilities in support of our customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with technical team members to understand and finalise complex product requirements and translate them into software designs

• Design and engineer shippable code with stability, scalability and security in mind adhering to agreed KPIs in Production

• Set up and maintain the required AWS infrastructure for the deployment of the developed business sense

• Develop the required monitoring and alerting with the proper supporting dashboards

• Contribute to a high-quality engineering pipeline, utilising Agile methodologies that ensure releases are predictable, repeatable and reliable

• Appreciate the value of collaboration and supporting engineers and helping to ensure code quality and standards across the team

Requirements

• Be a natural communicator with an ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and external suppliers

• Have great knowledge of Python and use of a JVM language as well as experience with front-end technologies

• Have experience working with version control systems such as Git

• Have advanced knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, pair-programming, TDD, as well as being alert to security best-practices

• Be familiar with development languages such as SQL and UNIX

• Have experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and CI/CD practises
