The Joint Legal Team, based in the Civic Offices in Reading, provides a legal service in Adult Social Care and Education law to four of the Berkshire unitary authorities. About the role The successful applicant will assist a team of childcare solicitors with their caseloads and will have an active role in our care proceedings and private law work, seeing cases from early stages through to a successful conclusion. You ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. Ideally you should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Adult social care law and Education law, in both public and private law, and have knowledge of legislation relevant to this area of work. Have a primary legal qualification for example CILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice or equivalent. Have good general education with at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths and English. A range of skills, abilities and competencies are required for this role, including the ability to manage a workload with increasing complexity, providing advice of a high standard which inspires confidence for the recipient, excellent time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet service needs.
