Events Executive, CPD Events Full time, 35 hours per week Permanent Band FN, Salary from £26,658 PA Location: North of England WFH or local office, dependant on residence Hunter Merrifield are working with a Medical Membership Organisation in their search for an Events Executive. The Medical Membership College is one of the foremost primary care organisations in the UK. They are looking for an Events Executive to join their CPD events team to organise and deliver CPD clinical conferences, courses and events – both online and face to face. The CPD Events Team sits with the Membership, Development and Education Directorate, responsible for providing clinical conferences, courses, webinars and events across the UK to support general practice and primary care whilst raising the profile of the organisation to its constituents and stakeholders. This Events Executive role will primarily support the delivery of educational programmes by organising training events and courses for GPs and other health care professionals. The post holder will also be expected to take an active part in all other educational events and conference activity within the team. The role would suit a candidate based in the North of England. They will need to be willing to travel across this region (Northumberland, Cumbria, Tyne & Wear, Co Durham, North Yorks, Lancs, Merseyside, Cheshire, West Yorks, Greater Mancs, North Yorks, South Yorks, East Ridings) as events will take place in some of these areas. Candidates must be willing and able to travel throughout the UK. Candidates will also need access to a car and a valid driving licence. Responsibilities: Events Executive To be the key point of contact for GPs and healthcare professionals wanting to undertake courses, conferences, and other educational activity organised by the department, whether f2f or online. To act as the first point of contact for delegates seeking clarification and information about courses and other events, advising them on which events are most relevant to their job role / CPD needs. To actively promote programmes by working with the Sales & Marketing team as well as with external partners and agencies in marketing programmes where appropriate. To identify ways in which events can be developed with a view to increasing profitability without compromising quality. Under the direction of the Interim CPD Events Manager / Senior Events Executive ensure that operational processes and procedures are fit for purpose, and regularly reviewed and updated in response to changing needs to support events delivery. To attend events where possible to observe training delivery to ensure quality of training, and feed back to CPD Events Manager / Senior Events Executive re issues, concerns or good practice. To host allocated events, when necessary, both f2f and online, whether in the north of England region or elsewhere in the UK if needed, including set up, registration and operation. To keep accurate financial records of income and expenditure of events being delivered, reporting on an event-by-event basis in a timely fashion. To contribute to the end-of-month, quarterly and year-end financial spreadsheets in accordance with the guidance from the Finance Department/Interim CPD Events Manager/Senior Events Executive. To negotiate and contract with external venues to ensure best value for money when booking events/accommodation. Oversee the production of course materials and ensure that the programmes adhere to copyright requirements.Person Specifications: Events Executive Events degree preferred, but work experience with relevant transferable skills will be considered Experience in administration and co-ordination of training events/educational courses/conferences is desirable Experience in delivering online events is desirable Knowledge of budget monitoring and financial tracking/reporting Excellent written and communication skills Self-sufficient in IT skills and an excellent working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation programmes Ability to work with senior professionals For more information on the Events Executive role, please contact Akash at Hunter Merrifield.
