Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Wakefield

Shifts Pattern: 4 on 4 off, days and nights

Salary: Circa £37,000 basic + Overtime Available + Pension + 23 days Holiday + Progression

The Company:

Do you want progression? My client, an established waste management company, is seeking an electrical engineer to join their team to assist with all electrical faults on their automated site on a full time, permanent basis.

They are a leading waste to product company in Wakefield with approximately 600 employees over 30 locations internationally. After years of establishing themselves on this scale they have now reduced their products to achieve over 90% in recovery and recycling.

The engineering team is made up of a handful of standing members all established engineers in their chosen field. The teams are split between electrical and mechanical bias technicians with a team leader heading each side. They are very dedicated to inhouse training and progression, even their (now management manager) start off as a mechanical engineer in this team.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate should have experience working within electrical engineering, such as plc fault finding, installing and rewiring, and power circuits within a heavy duty plant. You should have a “can do” attitude, a professional attitude, be able to show initiative and enjoy challenging yourself.

Furthermore, you should be a team player and show ambition to progress your career with this multinational site company. If you are a professional applicant with the right attitude and knowledge there are options for you to move into an electrical team lead position in the coming years.

Essential Requirements:

  • Several years experience working as a maintenance engineer on an industrial site.
  • Works to all health and safety regulations
  • Hold an NVQ level 3 or above in electrical engineering (or equiv)
  • Strong PLC/SCADA controls knowledge.
  • Experience with electrical systems and circuits from 24V up to 415V
  • Willingness to further skill set and complete necessary training.
  • “Can do” professional attitude.
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of Electricity At Work Regulations 1998 and PTW and LOTO systems.
  • Previous experience as the sole electrical engineer on shift.
  • Hold 17th/18th Edition
  • Previous waste, manufacturing or automated site experience.
  • Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, EC&I Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Fitter, Waste Engineer, Process Engineer Manufacturing Engineer – £37,000 + and a very strong benefits package.
