Responsibilities

and Knowledge required for the role:

  • Hands-on technical experience analysing large and complex datasets using databases and analytic software.
  • Working experience in business environment of 3 years and above. Experience in insurance/asset management/financial services is preferred.
  • Degree and/or relevant professional qualification e.g. data analytics, business analytics, computer science, engineering, etc.
  • A strong working knowledge of SQL. Strong programming mindsets. Experience with Python or R is a plus but not essential.
  • Experience of data analysis and data visualisation using market visualisation tools e.g. Power BI.
  • Strong Excel skills. VBA is a plus.
  • Experience of data modelling techniques e.g. clustering, regression, machine learning, text analytics, predictive modelling is a plus.
  • Experience of Databricks and Microsoft Azure is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for working with data to solve business problems.
  • Understanding of audit process and appreciation of risks/controls is a plus.
  • Personal Skills:

  • As this role will face off to a wide variety of Stakeholders including Senior Executives, a professional demeanour and excellent communication skills are essential. Ability to explain highly technical subjects to non-technical audience is a must.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities is essential in the fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent sense of organisation, initiative and prioritisation of objectives, with the ability to balance multiple projects and other responsibilities.
