    This is a full time, permanent position.

    Job Description

    · To lead the delivery of a large national programme the NHS Volunteer Responders programme, driving the programme forwards to deliver its outputs and outcomes to time, cost and quality, including all aspects of programme management from contracting, problem solving, ensuring progress, identifying and gaining approval for solutions through to successful implementation.

    · To oversee multiple project teams, ensuring programme goals are reached

    · To work with colleagues across the charity, external stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure activities are delivered cohesively and in accordance with agreed programme plans

    · Relationship management both internally and externally with all key programme stakeholders.

    · To ensure successful programme delivery balanced with flexible localised planning in response to changing needs.

    · To monitor task completion rates, shift fulfilment rates and swiftly take steps to address any areas where these fall below the target threshold agreed with the Commissioner

    · To identify any changes required to data structures, processes, systems and have a strong in-depth understanding of the digital partners technology (GoodSAM)

    · To develop and deliver programme plans, volunteer and stakeholder engagement plans that supports the continued development of the programme. Including a schedule of regular daily, weekly and monthly engagement with key stakeholders: volunteers, users, referrers, local health and care organisations and voluntary sector organisations

    · To develop, improve the volunteer journey and experience. Scoping and implementing the system changes required according to the commissioner’s requirements.

    · To develop the operational specification for the digital platform provider for any new roles developed or other developments required.

    · To manage the direct recruitment, management, training, engagement and support of up to 1 million volunteers across England

    · To coordinate the relevant teams to develop a webinar schedule for volunteers, referrers and third parties and advise of the content needed. Adapt and flex these engagement events quickly based on live feedback of the programme

    · To develop a quality assurance mechanism to work with other agencies that wish to access the NHS Volunteer Responders infrastructure

  • Development and implementation of the national programme plan for NHS Volunteer Responders and associated sub plans emerging from engagement undertaken by the appointed Service Redesign partner and others.
  • Risk analysis and risk management to highlight potential and real risk to the programme and development of mitigations to off-set risk
  • Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives.
  • Tasks as requested by line management and other tasks associated to the programme and broader NHS linked work.
  • Ensure appropriate communication channels are in place and effective between all teams working within the programme.
  • Ensure that reports are planned and prepared for internal/external Project Boards, committees and the Leadership Team in an accurate and timely manner.
  • The Successful Applicant

    The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in Project Management or as a Programme Manager
  • Must have experience in change management programmes
  • Ability to manage programme budgets
