What does this job involve?

  • To ensure the safe, efficient and effective methods of problem solving, repair, maintenance and rectification techniques.
  • Contributing to providing advice and expertise in the electrical and mechanical engineering field to ensure conformity and statutory safety requirements and contribute to meet business objectives. The post holder will contribute to work planning, technical information and reports as required.
  • Investigating site failure or deterioration and recommending and carrying out remedial action, monitoring the effectiveness of remedial maintenance or modification work.
  • Contributing to major overhaul work in the production facility, as necessary.

We are looking for people who:

  • Engineering qualification – NVQ, HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent (essential)
  • 17th or 18th Edition (essential)
  • Multi Skilled (Electrical and Mechanical with Electrical bias (essential)
  • PLC Programming (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Automation – install, commissioning and BAU activity
  • Food manufacturing experience with familiarisation of equipment such as VFFS baggers, multi head weighers, tapers, coders and product conveyors preferred.
  • Strong communication skills
