Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a significant role in undertaking assessments and providing evidence based interventions to children, young people and families. The post holder will be a key member of our team with involvement in multidisciplinary meetings, offering consultation and training. They will Care Co-Ordinate and provide supervision to colleagues. Involvement in developing and maintaining clinical skills within the wider team and service development will form part of this role. Regular supervision will be provided by an Accredited CBT supervisor.

We have excellent links with our partner service in Flintshire CAMHS and involvement in initiatives across the area will also form part of this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education and Training

Essential criteria

  • The post holder will have a recognised core profession such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology.
  • BABCP (or equivalent board) Accredited CBT Psychotherapist.
  • Desirable criteria

  • A recognised post-graduate, Masters-level qualification in the Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies
  • Evidence of broad range of evidence based psychotherapies.
  • Evidence of further training and development in specific therapeutic CBT approaches.
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Evidence of broad clinical experience of children and young people who are experiencing complex mental health needs.
  • Providing focused Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies to this client group.
  • Substantial experience in clinical practice post qualification or in therapeutic clinical practice.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS.
  • Previous specialist CAMHS experience carrying out risk assessment with this vulnerable or high risk group.

    Essential criteria

  • Able to demonstrate and teach CBT approaches to other professionals.
  • Able to communicate effectively and deliver effective evidence based cognitive behavioural psychotherapies to children, young people and their families with highly complex psychological problems.
