Prospectus are pleased to be partnering a Social Enterprise who exist to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, with good people around them, and have a fulfilling purpose. With one of their focus’ being in Justice, they work with young people and adults in custody and in the community to provide a range of services that provides effective support mechanisms and intervention to help their service users desist from crime and reach their true potential. They are now looking to recruit a Navigator Mentor, initially on a temporary basis for a 2-5-month period.

As a Navigator Mentor, you will work with complex and vulnerable individuals who have been identified as high-risk of being recalled to custody. You will complete ongoing assessments of the individuals’ needs and deliver innovative interventions designed to motivate and encourage rehabilitation and compliance, you will work to create support plans with People on Probation, liaise with their personal network, provide advocacy and support them to attend appointments in the community. You will provide mentoring, practical and emotional support and work in partnership with a range of local providers, with the end goal of reducing the rates of recall.

To be considered, you will have previous experience or an understanding of working with offenders and/or vulnerable, disadvantaged people and have a knowledge of the Criminal Justice System. You will also have knowledge of recall procedures and an understanding of the factors which frequently contribute to non-compliance as well as experience of using a trauma-informed approach when working with vulnerable individuals. You will possess the ability to support people on probation through their transition from prison back into the community, including those with complex needs, the ability to manage a caseload and lastly be able build and manage effective and positive relationships.

To be considered you must be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS (Adults) issued within the past year, or registered to the online update service and be available immediately or with no more than a 1-2 week notice period.

Please note this is a full-time role and travel across east London will be required. Hybrid working option, 2 days per week from home, 3 days in office. They are also happy to consider flexible working requests of condensed working weeks/fortnights.
