Pancreatic Clinical Nurse Specialist

Band 6,
37.5 hrs per week, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract,
Based Mainly at Glasgow Royal Infirmary

We are looking for an experienced, innovative and resilient Registered Nurse
to join the Upper GI Specialist Nursing Team in the North Sector of GG&C who provide a dedicated clinical service to individuals with a variety of Upper GI cancers. This post will be funded for 3 years by Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland (PCAS).

This specialist role also involves working in partnership with PCAS to explore and deliver additional support services to individuals and their families affected by pancreatic cancer. A Clinical Nurse Specialist is a Registered Nurse who has acquired additional specialist knowledge and experience. Working within the nursing and multi- professional team you will ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group and manage the complex patient pathway while ensuring patients and their families are supported. Integrated within this role are consultancy, teaching, management and research activities. You will join a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team which includes

8 Consultant Surgeons, 1 band 7 CNS, 3 other band 6 CNSs and administrative support who are committed to improving the quality of care and improving outcomes for individuals with pancreas cancer.

It is essential you are a First Level Registered Nurse educated to Degree level with significant post registration experience, able to demonstrate evidence of clinical practice development and experience relevant to the responsibilities of this post. Clinical experience within a surgical environment would be an advantage while a knowledge of research methods would be desirable. For
