Our client is looking for a Delivery Manager for a field-based role in the South of England. The overall purpose of this role is the management of the Real Time Systems (RTS) team and the effective delivery of the associated capital refresh programmes across the operational technology estate. The role is accountable for managing both the internal team and third-party partners, where appropriate, for the delivery of our key PLC/SCADA infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • To manage the performance and development of the team and to provide support, guidance and coaching to them as required. To work with and successfully engage staff at all levels with functional and corporate objectives as well as motivating staff to deliver to challenging timescales.
  • Planning the project and monitoring any dependencies with other initiatives. Ensuring that the quality of the project’s deliverables are acceptable, balancing this against time and quality.
  • To lead contractor review meetings (monthly ORBs and Joint Strategy Board Meetings) to discuss and evaluate contractor performance.
  • To undertake high level monitoring of operational performance, systems and procedures to ensure these are as required and to resolve or improve, as necessary.
  • Review planned works and ensure that the right task is being carried out at the right frequency and timescale. Engagement in the Asset Risk Management framework.
  • Manage change effectively engaging with staff to ensure any changes are smoothly implemented with the required level of consultation.
  • Skills Needed:

  • Experience of leading a team of technical engineers. Strong management and leaderships skills with the ability to motivate and drive.
  • Experience a multi skilled delivery team of inhouse and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Solid and demonstrable experience of successful project delivery across a number of project domains and environments e.g. procurement, IT, organisational change.
  • Experience of implementation, maintenance, and operation of site-based control systems with a utility background preferred.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Excellent understanding of financial control.
  • Regulatory environment experience desirable.
  • Professional Project Management accreditation e.g. OGC’s Prince2 or PMP
