Financial Controller (Part time 3/4 days per week) – Central Reading

Robert Half are working exclusively with an IT Software business, based in Central Reading with the recruitment of a Financial Controller to work on a part time basis. Working closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire Finance function covering commercial analysis, business partnering, day-to-day Finance and financial reporting.

As the business scales this position has the scope to develop into a Head of Finance/Finance Director role.

  • Responsibility for the production/presentation of monthly management accounts.
  • Management of the monthly close and board reporting
  • Cash flow modelling, business forecasting

    • Develop and implement forecasting, planning and budgeting processes (FP&A).

  • Finance business partner to sales team, project and tech teams and the leadership team.
  • Improve and implement robust financial controls to improve performance, profitability, and governance.
  • Create and build a commercial price model
  • Understand the dynamics of AWS pricing and develop a cost model for cloud infrastructure.

    • Improve and streamline the month-end process.

  • Continuous process improvement and system implementation to support the business as it grows.
  • Extensive ad-hoc projects alongside the leadership team.
  • Build a team as the business scales alongside the office manager/bookkeeper.
  • Produce year-end accounts and act as a point of contact for external accountants; manage related tax filings

    • Manage client contracts, invoicing, and receivables collections (in collaboration with Sales and Account Management colleagues)

  • Manage treasury function, including bookkeeping/cash reconciliations
  • Supervise and make monthly payroll, pension, and supplier payments
  • Manage HMRC and other regulatory filing requirements
  • Manage quarterly VAT Returns
  • Work closely with other projects such as R&D credits and other ad-hoc projects
  • Some experience in data analysis and reporting with strong excel or third-party data analytics skills for SaaS metrics reporting
