More about the role

The Field  Service Engineer is part of our Customer Engineering team, which is part of our core business – Industrial Gases Operations. You will provide maintenance services and work along with the project engineers on both new and existing sites.

You will deal with troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, installation and some design of control and instrumentation systems, and they support installation and commissioning activities for the core business and projects.

As the Field  Service Engineer, you will work in southern England and potentially other locations. You will be expected to deal with Emergency Call-outs 24/7.

LOCATION: South of England and potentially other locations
EDUCATION: HNC or NVQ equivalent in Industrial Engineering
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS: working experience in a field role, experience with the customer-facing environment, ability to work independently, flexibility, ability to work under pressure
CONTRACT: permanent
SALARY: competitive salary + annual bonus + benefits

As the Field Service Engineer, you will also

  • Ensure safe operation and legal compliance of the sites
  • Ensure all legal inspections are carried out before due dates
  • Respond to unplanned maintenance in a timely manner
  • Maintain documentation both written and electronic
  • Provide support to core business site with a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • As the Field Service Engineer, you already are or have

  • HNC or NVQ equivalent in Industrial Engineering
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role
  • Proven experience working in a service / installation field role
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely and travel frequently
  • Self-motivated independent worker
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot under pressure
  • Good IT skills (knowledge of SAP is beneficial but not necessary)
  • Working knowledge of PLC controlled systems, including fault finding and remote integration
  • Experience on working on Pressurised Systems in compliance with PSSR 2000 legislation
