Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Web Designer to join our inspirational team here at Historic England on a 12 month fixed term contract and be part of our new digital strategy. This is an excellent development opportunity to join a team building and maintaining Historic England`s digital offer.

We are seeking someone enthusiastic, talented and passionate about web/digital designer at the start of their development career.

The role is perfect for someone who is comfortable collaborating in a team or working on your own. The role offers you chance to grow and develop your existing creative and innovative web design skills and requires strong attention to detail.

What you will be doing

As part of a team with skills in UX, design and development you will develop the Historic England website – how the site works and how it looks. You will primarily focus on the appearance and design of the Historic England website. Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Adobe XD and can show creative thinking away from a screen.

What we are looking for

-Evidence of creative and innovative web design skills eg. design portfolio

-Experience of working with PC design tools, eg. Photoshop, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Adobe CC

-Evidence of delivering designs to specification and working to tight deadlines

-Experience of user centric design

-Can demonstrate understanding of accessibility standards

-Demonstrate understanding of wire framing and prototyping for the web
