Robert Half Technology is recruiting on an exclusive basis for a growing Retail & Distribution business in the Coventry area as they look to recruit an IT Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis. The Role
Working as part of a tight knit IT function , the IT Infrastructure Engineer will provide a professional, high-quality service to the business. Providing escalated 3rd Line Infrastructure Support, as well as, designing & implementing projects solutions to help scale the business and progress towards a full cloud environment. You will hold additional responsibility managing a junior member of staff to support their continued development whilst being the proactive face of IT to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of IT infrastructure strategy
The design, implementation of and management of IT infrastructure, including (but not limited to) laptops, desktops, thin client devices, routers and switches, firewalls, servers and cloud technologies
To ensure that business infrastructure is up to date, documented and regularly reviewed to establish if it is the best solution
Where applicable, provide justification for decisions made and ensure that they are in line with company requirements
Provide support to the business, including IT staff and end-users
Mentoring an IT junior team member
Ensure that the IT department maintain a positive image within the business and ensure that staff feel confident in the service being provided
Support the IT Director by thoroughly researching and advising on any key changes, as well as providing support in making decisions on how to drive the business forward
To ensure all company values are upheld by IT staff
Liaise with third party suppliers
Define and uphold working standards with the IT department
Proactively encourage team cohesiveness, knowledge share and natural growth
Management of company assets and configuration
Your Profile
You are a highly motivated, proven IT Infrastructure Engineer looking to take on the ownership and responsibility for a growing infrastructure estate. You should be practical with a positive can-do mentality. You must be willing to offer solutions and be able to challenge effectively to gain the best outcomes.

Service Mentality
Technical Skills/Experience
Multiple sites infrastructure management
Experience of Office 365 admin support including exchange hybrid installations. (O365 Licensing platforms, Azure, Sharepoint, Power BI etc.).
Knowledge of ERP Systems support + implementation (Dynamics Navision/Business Central desirable but not essential)
Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Configuration and support.
SCCM application packaging/deployment experience
Networking/Firewall configuration and support.
Windows Client support Windows 7 through to Windows 11.
Support of Mobile devices Android/ Apple.
Experience aligning business to industry standard IT security levels/protocols
Salary & Benefits
The successful candidate will be offered a salary between £40,000-£45,000 + additional benefits.
The role offers hybrid working – currently 3 days on-site and 2 from home.
