Paediatric Sonographer Band 7

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Royal Hospital for Children is seeking to appoint a sonographer to join our small, friendly ultrasound team.

The Hospital opened in June 2015 and is one of the largest paediatric teaching hospitals in the UK and the largest in Scotland. Its modern imaging facilities provide local, regional and national care for premature neonates to young adults.

We are looking for a paediatric trained sonographer but would consider a general medical sonographer interested in specialising in paediatrics. Paediatric specific training for this role will be provided in house as required.

The post holder will be responsible for independently performing and reporting a wide range of ultrasound examinations and will also supervise and train new sonographers and radiology registrars.

If successful in your application, you may be required to participate in 7 day working over 365 days. It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound with current registration with the HCPC.
