The role
The difference our new Senior Site Engineer will make
As a Senior Site Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. In this role you will help generate significant value providing oversight and support to all in-country support activities. As Senior Site Engineer you will provide technical assistance to our customer Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME). You will act as the first point of contact for all technical and manufacturing issues in-country.

Day to day, you’ll work closely alongside Babcock’s newly established Korean subsidiary (Babcock Korea) in support of longer term on-going knowledge transfer. The secondment is site based, working on a major South Korean shipyard primarily based at Geoje with travel to other locations as required. You will be responsible for providing Engineering expertise and leadership on all in-country matters supporting the Korean customer to successfully complete manufacture, assembly and test of the Babcock designed Weapon Launch System licenced items together with creation of the associated Build State Database.

Essential experience

* Experience in the manufacture and assembly of complex systems and high integrity equipment (submarine equipment desirable) to tight tolerance levels and UK specifications (i.e. British Standards and Defence Standards)
* Familiarity with inspection plans, manufacturing history packs, and the associated QA documentation and associated process controls.
* Experience of factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning of complex systems and high integrity equipment (submarine experience desirable).
* Experience of working remotely (international experience desirable).
* Experience of building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external to the business.
