This is an exciting time to join the REH Pharmacy Team as we move ahead with a 5-year investment plan which will see recruitment of a diverse skill mix of technical staff to enhance the patient experience at ward level.

We are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join the mental health team delivering and developing pharmacy services to the Royal Edinburgh and Associated Services Division. The Royal Edinburgh Hospital and Associated Services (REAS) provides acute psychiatric and mental health services, which also includes the treatment of individuals with learning disabilities, dementia and also the management of young peoples mental health.

Successful candidates will have an enthusiasm for learning and development, a professional attitude and a passion for working in healthcare. As well as a drive for personal development, candidates should demonstrate personal values aligned with those of our organisation: NHS Lothian Values. The successful candidate will possess a NC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a SVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. In addition the successful candidate will have completed the PDA: Assessment and Supply of Individual Patients Medicines and the HN unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians (PDCT) and have completed the HNC Pharmacy Services Development and Management qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent management experience.

This post will support evening and weekend working and public holidays cover, when required.
